Field Trip to AMC office

An enlightening field trip to the AMC office !


As a part of their Civics curriculum, the students of Grade 6 embarked on an educational visit to the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) office on February 7, 2025 to gain a firsthand experience of how the local government functions. The visit was an enriching opportunity for students to witness civic administration in action and understand its significance in daily life.
During the visit, students explored various departments, including sanitation, water supply, waste management, health, and urban planning. Officials from each department provided insightful explanations about their roles and responsibilities, emphasizing how AMC ensures the smooth functioning of the city. Students learned about waste segregation, water conservation initiatives, public health services, and the digitalization of municipal processes.

One of the highlights of the visit was an interactive session in the conference room where students were informed about civic responsibilities, government policies, and ways to contribute to a cleaner and greener Ahmedabad. A videoclip of Ahmedabad city as a World Heritage city was shown to enrich knowledge of students on the cultural gifts endowed on this land. Students were particularly fascinated by the technology and planning behind city infrastructure and waste management.
The visit proved to be highly informative and engaging, sparking curiosity among students about governance and public administration. It helped them connect theoretical knowledge from their Civics lessons with real-world applications, fostering a sense of civic awareness and responsibility.
