Foundation Day
In order to heighten the awareness of environmental issues surrounding the world today, Anand Niketan Satellite Campus celebrated their FOUNDATION DAY on 30th June 2018 by conducting a ‘Plantation and Beautification Drive’ which saw enthusiastic and excited children teaming up with their teachers, administrators and staff to plant dozens of saplings that the students from Grade 5 had brought along with them, in the school garden.
The students were very keyed up to be part of this project and said that the plants they plant today will make their school very beautiful.
Other students added, "Planting is an activity that will pay dividends for decades to come.
Not only will they help clean up the environment but we can revisit the school even after passing out of the school and be proud of the trees that we are planting today."
The students took a pledge that they would nurture the plants and ensure that they grew up into healthy trees.
Students, especially from Grades 6 to 12 participated in a beautification drive, "Sundar Surroundings, Saaf Man," where the students cleaned up the school, removed graffiti from the walls, picked up litter and garbage and painted various areas and put up relevant posters that extolled the need and virtues of cleanliness.
The students of the primary school illustrated the school that they love so much and also wrote about their most beautiful memories associated with the school and the changes that they would like to see in the school.
Speaking on the occasion Director Nashy Chauhan said that such programs help instill in the students, a sense of ownership and pride for the school where they spend almost 8 hours a day.
Furthermore, a well-maintained school provides a beautiful and attractive learning environment for the students.
The students deserve a beautiful school and by beautifying the school and by planting new plants, the students play leadership roles and take responsibility for keeping their school clean and attractive."
